I finally finished my BeeFF blocks for Tia!! Tias month was February, so I am still behind :/
This is the first block
Block 2 for Tia
This is machine sewn. I am just not patient enough to hand sew!
The other block is hand sewn, and so took me almost 2 months to finish :/
Tias first block done
I am still fiddling with the Christmas ornaments, I have some ideas. That'll be the next post...

The kids and I have been visiting my parents all week, we'll be going back to Copenhagen today. We have visited the artmuseum, aRos.

I really want to see the installation on the roof "Your Rainbow Panorama" by Olafur Eliasson, but it doesn't open untiln the end of May.
So....we'll just have to come back soon :)

We also found time to visit a fabric store - obviously!

Happy New Year!

I started blogging March 2008, probably during the busiest time ever! I was studying full-time and we didn't have daycare for Ask yet, so he was at home with me. That did not leave a lot of time for crafting.
But I must say, that I have learned more this year than I could ever have imagined :)
Reading your blogs, being able to ask fellow crafters' advice -it means so much to me. I love the encoragement you leave in the comments, and although I don't get back to all of you, I want you to know, that every single comment is appreciated so so much!

I wish you all a blessed and happy New Year, and I am looking forward to seeing you and your blogposts in 2009!

Lots of thank yous from Tine

Scrappy I SPY squares is done!!!

And I love it!! I am so happy this quilt is staying at my house :)
I just finished the binding, some of the scraps I chose are a little heavy, making it hard to handstitch, but it was okay.

Viola is not feeling well, so she is at home with me, which is nice. We have lots of projects, and I get to sew a little during the day. It is not good at all for my paper, I can't work when she is here, so I work at night.
That is seriously cutting into my sleep.... Not a good thing, but I'll manage, the sewing should be done by Dec. 24th (lets keep our fingers crossed. Lol), and the paper by Jan. 5th. And then I'll have some time to catch up!

I made labels for all of the 3 quilts I am giving as gifts this Christmas.. I used stamps, and I am not sure what I think of these, but finished labels are much better then imagined perfect phantom labels...so I am using these :)
Charles' is already on his quilt! YAY!
This quilt is completely done, ready to be wrapped!!
I am soooo happy!

Now onto the next project....I need to piece the backing for my sisters quilt.
And Viola and I are working on calendars for the family, she'll be giving one to Charles, my parents and my sister.

I printed and cut all the photos, one calendar has all the photos in place, and Viola is adding the finishing touches (drawings and stickers!). So only 2 more to go!
But why did I have to choose the kind where I have to write all the dates?!

Away from home

The kids and I are visiting my parents for a few days. My classes start soon, and then it'll be hard to find time to go away!
My mom has a huge box of scraps, so I brought my ruler, and made 2 blocks so far.

It's been raining pretty hard here, and Viola loves to be out in the rain. Ask doesn't, so he stayed inside.
Ask is getting his first molars, 3 at the same time. So he is feverish and whiney, the poor guy :-( It must hurt quite bad, he usually doesn't cry. Of course this all started the day after we got here, and it's 4 hours on the train to get home. Not looking forward to that! But I really do believe you should be at home when not feeling well!
So I have asked Charles to come and get us, and as the sweet loving man he is, he just agreed right away.
I'm so grateful! It could have been a really bad 4 hour-trip back to Copenhagen :-( Now it'll be fine!

I brought my doll quilt, and sent it from here on Monday...I cannot wait to hear what my partner thinks of it!!!
Hopefully it'll arrive at its new home soon!

Jen at Crafty Giveaways is giving away Disney princess panels and backing to 5 lucky winners. Go leave a comment! Good luck!

....and I made it out on my 3rd run today...I like running in the rain!

Vacation part II

Since saturday we have been staying in a house on a beautiful little island, Bogø. It is very very small, app. 3km x 6km.... Very small!
The house in the picture is not the house we are staying in, I just liked it :-) Lots of houses like that here. It is so pretty.

Since the island is so small, we spend a lot of time by the beach. The weather was beautiful, and the kids spent a lot of time just playing in the sand. When they got bored doing that, they had fun throwing rocks into the water...
Noone in sight!! Amazing!
We stay here until Saturday, and then we have to go back to Copenhagen!

Back home again

After a 6 hour drive, we are back home in Copenhagen :-) The drive was long and warm, so we took lots of breaks along the way...

I went to a couple of thrift-stores while we were at my parents house, and found this towel-rack, it's meant to hang on a door. I paid $1 for it! Sorry about the flash in the photo :-(
And I found some sheets!! I want to cut these up, and use the fabric in quilts. Maybe a Christmas-present? Some of these will be great for backing!
And they costs me about $1 a piece! YAY!

Tomorrow we go on vacation for a week, Charles and I are taking the kids to a summerhouse on a small island. It's our first vacation together as a family. Fun!

Vacation part I

This first week of our summerholiday, the children and I are visiting my parents. They have a house, and a garden..... So there is lots and lots of playing outside, and I don't have to worry about broken glass, cigarette-stubs etc. So nice!

I also found the very first quilt I ever made. It's not really quilted, not even tied.... And it's quite lump as a result. LOL!
I made this in 94 -I think- and then I didn't really quilt again until 3-4 years ago!
Viola loves this quilt, because it is purple...

I comented on a give-away post on Wen's blog A Simple Life. I didn't win, but she still sent me this absolutely lovely gift..
A little purse and a sewn grocery-bag! I love them both!!

The grocerybags can be folded up, and I can cary it around with me all the time. No more buying those plastic bags!! I'm so happy! Thank you so much Wen!

I was tagged by the wonderful Suzanne from create fun and mess.... 6 unimportant facts about me:

1: I love ice-cream, my favourite is Ben&Jerrys mint-cookie-ice-cream
2: I don't like swimming in the ocean, the fish freak me out a little
3: I'm quite shy
4: I love Elvis Presley and Dolly Parton
5: I love sushi
6: I don't have a favourite color

Thanks for tagging me, I won't tag anyone....I'm not on my own computer, and this machine is taking forever to do the simplest things :-(

SØDESTE means sweetest. I got the name, because Charles set up my Flickr-account with that name, thinking I could change it later.... But how could I change it, when he gave me a name like that?!
