Taxi Tote and an award!

This tote is my sisters birthday-present. It's January 5th, so she usually brings her present, when she goes back home after the holidays. I used the Taxi Tote pattern from Anna Maria Horners book "Seams to me". It was a great pattern and really easy to follow. I haven't made bags before, and I think the interfacing I used might be a little too heavy. Or does it get softer as you use the bag??
I was also a little confused about the patterns, I couldn't find any info on seam-allowance, and didn't know if I should add it to the pattern or not. I'm sure she writes about in the book somewhere, I just couldn't find it ;)
After sewing the bag, I am pretty sure, I should the seamallowance is included in the patterns. Oh well!

I hope my sister will like it anyway :)

Thank you for all the birthday-comments for Charles yeaterday, I have read them all to him, and he was very happy :D
I also showed him the part of the post that didn't include his quilt ;)

Melanie from JellybeanAngel gave me this award! Thank you so much :)
It is impossible to me to choose who to pass this on to. You are all so creative, and I wish I could just give it to all of you!

I'm still here!!

Another picture from our bikerides through the city....

I am still here! Ask and I are sick, I have a billion pages to read for my class......
On the bright side, Ask is better, and will be back to his normal lovely self very soon, and hopefully I should be so too :-) Once he is okay it shouldn't take me long, being able to sleep at night is so healing -compared to being kept awake by a sick 1 year old!

Election Day in the US is pretty interesting for us in the rest of the world too....so please vote if you are able to do so! Please!
I know I am keeping my fingers crossed and will be checking the internet at the crack of dawn to see who will be the next president...

Until then.....I have been given an award! YAY! Thank you Thrifty Mrs!!!
I am very happy to get this award!

An award and some Christmas-projects

Suddenly there is not that long until Dec. 1st!! And I need to have 2 advent-calendar bags finished before then! So I have made some progress on Violas. I'm using Welcome to the North Pole by Piece O'Cake Design as my pattern.
My moon is a little pointy, I'm not that good at appliqueing circles -yet! I still have some work to do on this little house, but it is really fun to sew. I am so happy I finally got the courage to start something from this pattern! FUN FUN!

I have also been working on Violas birthday (or Christmas?) present. I saw this Lilypad Toss game on Mama Urchins blog, and I think it will be perfect for her. I made the frogs from a pattern in the book in the picture.. I have made 2 more, but they didn't make in into the picture....lost somewhere on my sewing-table!
Anyway...I'm going to sew the lily pads and a little bag to keep it all in. That's the plan right now, let's see how well I do. LOL!
First things first, I need to give these little frogs some eyes.

Karen has given me the Blogging Friends Forever award! Thank you so much!
Karen is a very talented quilter, you should go see her Christmas-quilt, I love it :-)
the Blogging Friends Forever is supposed to be passed on to 5 new blogs, but how can I choose only 5?? It is not possible for me, I have so many great blogging friends!

Now I am going to head into town (in the rain I might add!) to pick up my books for my next class.
I don't like rain :-(
