Quilting, present, date, shopping...GOOD TIMES

I'm almost done quilting hte Plain Spoken! I'm so excited! It was not at all as difficult as I thought it would be. So far, so good.
Until now, I have changed bobbins 3 times and broken 4 needles on this! LOL!

And look what was waiting for me at the post office:
Lisa sent me this huge pile of fabrics from her stash :-) Thank you! I love them all!
Look at all the navy! I'll be able to start the RocketMan quilt for Ask. I'm so happy!

Charles and I went on a lunch-date today! We had Viola so soon after we met, that we haven't really had a lot of time to date. We met for the first time in September 2003, started dating late February 2004, and had Viola in December 2004. Most of you may think, this gives us a lot of time to date.....but no! 3 months pregnant I have to stay in bed, all day every day for the next 6 months :-(
And with children in the house, dates are few and far between :-)
Back to todays date....
Here he is, trying to explain his PhD project description.... Really the date was me talking about quilting, and Charles was just so happy being out without the kids that he didn't mind!

We went shopping, and I found this fabric. Thinking of binding the Plain Spoken with the polka-dots, and the solid brown is for sashing in Charles' Christmaspresent-quilt.
I haven't been able to keep up with my running these past few days :-(
So let's not dwell on that.... We'll talk about that in a couple of days when I have been out running again ;-D

Good for you, taking time out to have a date with your man! It looks like you had a nice time!
The quilt looks great - the quilting really makes a difference, doesn't it? I really like the polka dot fabric for the binding!
(I'll stop now before I run out of exclamation marks...)

Love the quilt!!! Your date sounds lovely - it is certainly hard to find time for dates once you have children!

Your quilting looks wonderful! What kind of batting did you use? I love the poly/cotton, but have some trouble finding it. Great day at the mailbox, and how fun to have a date with Charles.

wow! your quilting looks great - I haven't yet tried the free motion meandering but you are inspiring me! Having a date is a wonderful idea - we need one here! - six months in bed is dreadful - poor you. I'm amazed you were brave enough to try again with Ask! Now, you have to get back out there running - I've been walking the last two days around the university and it's all thanks to you!

What an understanding man happy to let your talk quilting on your date, he must be kind. Hope you had fun.
As for running I can understand the starting and stopping.

I love the quilt! Sometimes needles break, you just replace them. Isn't it great getting out on a date without the kids?? I can't remember the last time my hubby and I did that, maybe we ought to do it too!

I didn't realize you had such difficult pregnancies, Tine. That had to be hard. I am so glad you and Charles got to go out on a date, I love that picture of him : ) I remember the days of never getting to go anywhere. Even though I still have little ones, I also have teenagers, my own built in babysitters : )

I love that brown polka dot fabric, it will look great as the binding on the plain spoken quilt, which is gorgeous.

Congratulations on getting out without the kids. It's always nice to have an uninterrupted conversation. :o) I love the idea of binding the plain spoken quilt with an unexpected polka dot. I don't know why, but it makes me want to giggle. (It's late and maybe I haven't had enough sleep.)
