End of summer :-(

Remember my Flickr doll quilt swap? I recieved this beautiful doll quilt from Helen at Patchy Work of Mini Grey. Really....this is mine!! YAY! I am so happy! I have adored these lovely wonky rainbow-colored flying geese since the very first time I saw them! I have followed all the photos Helen uploaded, both in her Flickr account and on her blog, I just love them so much!
So you can imagine how happy and surprised I was, when this very quilt turned up at my house! Thank you so so much Helen! I treasure it!

Some progress have been made on Charles' Christmas-present. He loves brown, so I bought some to make a sashing, the squares are orange batik (he seems to be stuck in the 70s, colorwise. LOL!). I was going to make a wonky star-sashing, but when I see it laid out like this, it really seems quite busy as it is. So I'll probably just do the cornerblocks. What do you think?
It's fun to make these quilts to give away. I would never sew a primarily brown quilt for myself, but I just know he'll love it :-)

AND....good news...I went running yesterday! Yipee!

Tine, you are so very lucky to have received Helen's quiltie! WOW! I wish I had that one (but I have another one she made so I shouldn't complain, right?). Charles quilt is great! Does he know about it?

your quilt with wonky stars was just as adorable as the wonky geese you received. what a super swap group. your brown quilt is coming along nicely. i have a pattern that would put strip of brown next to outside cornerblocks so it looks as if blocks are floating in border. it would look like it does in your pic.

Oh Tine! It arrived! Yahhh! I have been stalking your blog and in flickr to see when it arrived. Am so glad you liked the quilt, every time you left a comment in my blog loving it I would smile and chuckle to myself! It was a great swap wasn't it, bring on #5! xx

The quilt you recieved was so beautiful! I love it! And the brown quilt is probably one of my favorites that you've made so far. I love all the detail, the brown sashing and the orange batik compliments the brown very well. Great job on the quilt!

Oh my goodness, that doll quilt is exquisite! Lucky you!

And I am with Charles, I love orange and brown, I think I am stuck in the 70's too lol I love the scrappy squares, the brown really sets them off.

I LOVE that wonky geese quilt, it's adorable! Charles' quilt is going to be amazing...even if he does like brown a little too much ;)

Hey, cool! Charles' quilt is kind of an ISpy, too. I love it, and I agree that it doesn't need a starry border. Maybe a narrow strip of orange and a wider strip of brown? Your swap quilt is gorgeous, too. Love those colors, and such nice quilting detail. I have the white star on white fabric, too. :>} Gotta love stars.

That's such a wonderful doll quilt - you lucky thing!
I see Charle's quilt is coming along nicely. I wouldn't have thought that brown would do much for a quilt, but you make it work! With those bright orange corner blocks that brown sashing is just the thing for your fun blocks!
And I see you have started counting the days antil Christmas - there's nothing like being prepared, right ;-)
