Plain Spoken #2

I finally finished my first 2010 quilt! It's the second time I have made a quilt using FunQuilts' Plain Spoken pattern -and it probably won't be the last :)
I love the colors in this quilt. So bright and cheery!

It is a 40th birthday present for a friend, and I finally tried out the fabric sheet Karen sent me. It was so easy to use!! I'll definately be making more labels this way. Maybe I'll even put labels on all the quilts I've made?!
I used a solid red for binding, and it ties the front and the backing together quiter nicely I think.
It is difficult to find "guy-prints" so I had Charles help me pick out the fabric for the backing ;)
The quilttop reminds me of the beach, sea-glass, swimming pools, summer and all things nice!
It was hard to give this quilt away, but start to finish it was meant for someone else.....so it would have been wrong to keep it. But I can still miss it a little, right?

Love this quilt. I have the same book and have great intentions of making that same quilt. It is on my long list of quilts to do.

Lovely quilt Tine and you will always have the photos to remind you. As you like the colours why not make a little something for you from the leftovers?

You can miss it a lot if you like. I love to have photos of the people I made the quilt for, wrapped in their quilt. Then I know it's loved and gone to a good home.

Tine, I loved your first Plain Spoken quilt which inspired me to make one. And this one is gorgeous too! I love the colors you chose. Now I want to make another one but bigger and for ME!

But at least you have the pictures to remind you! I love the colours of this one - it's a lovely quilt, and the red binding was the perfect finishing touch. And what a good idea to use those laundry symbols on the label, I might just steal that... ;-)

This is beautiful, not only the colors you chose, but your machine quilting is stunning! That's heavy work, I know, so it must mean you're feeling much better. :>}

I've already told you how much I love this one! What I think is so great is that every version (yours and others) are so different and stunning in their own way, yet we are all using the same pattern. How can that be?! :)

What a beautiful quilt - I love the use of solids - the colours remind me of the ocean.

oh Tine it's beautiful!!!! The quilting is so lovely - I shall have to try that style. The colours are gorgeous and I love the backing fabric. I too would want to keep it - but at least by giving it away, your talent will be appreciated by more!
