Welcome 2009...and Kitty!

Introducing Hello Kitty. She is wearing a fairydress -with wings I might add- and clear glittery plastic heels. This is a picture Viola took this afternoon. She adores her Kitty-doll. My sister took Viola to Build-a-Bear right after Christmas, and this is who they brought home :) Viola loves her so much!

I have made some more stars for Ask's quilt, I still have 26 to go. But once I am sewing, these go together pretty fast. Most of these blue fabrics was given to me by my friend Lisa. Thank you so much Lisa!!! I love them :)
The star-points all come from my scrap-box :)

I have made some crafting-resolutions for 2009:

1: I need to slow down, I need to not make long lists and big plans, but just sew and see how much I get done.

...that being said....

2: I want to sew a quilt for each of the children to put on their new beds (we are planning to get them bunk-beds this year). The quilt I have started for Ask will be for his bed ;)

3: I want to make a block each month for a quilt for me. I want to make them using the fabric-calendar given to me by my very generous friend Anne. Thank you so much, Anne!

I have soooo much more I want to sew in 2009, but trying to honor my first resolution, I am going to end the list here. If I have time, I hope to make so much more!

I like your first resolution. I don't like to promise myself too much. I try to keep things simple and build from there. Your stars are looking great!

I think you have it right, just sew and see how much you get done. It is so much more enjoyable that way than the pressure of a list.

Your stars are great.

Hello Kitty is adorable - love the wings! Who knew Build-A-Bear was international? We have them here,too. :>} Someone sure had a good idea when they started that chain. Do you need any lavender princess fabric for Viola's quilt? Or more blue stars for Ask's? Those are two items I happen to have more than I need of. :>}

Nice resolution, but save some time for those wonderful swaps.
I love the stars for your son's quilt. That is something I have not tried yet.

Miss Kitty is adorable. What a special thing for your sister to do with Viola, she will remember it.

The stars quilt is coming along nicely, I can hardly wait for you to finish it- not rushing you, but looking forward to seeing it done.

I didn't know that they had Hello Kitty at Build a Bear! How sweet! My niece would just love it! Your quilt for Ask is coming out terrific. He will just love it when it is done. I have to say that your list is realistic if you stick to #1 when doing all the others.

You have the right idea here - just do it and see what gets done! I tend to spend so much time making plans that end up with too little time to actually make anything, so I have a lot to lear from you here ;-)
I love Ask' stars - it will be a lovely quilt!

My comment got eaten by blogger. Grrrrr!!! So anyway as I was saying...I'm in love with HK! Even at my age. My year isn't starting on the right foot because I still haven't found my HK 2009 calender. I've checked 2 stores around here. I've yet to check a 3rd. I just love me some HK and it just makes me happier!
Those stars are absolutely wonderful! I can't wait to see this as a completed quilt!!

Well done for being organised. I now have a scarey 2009 list. I have just posted my goals for 2009.

The stars are looking good. I can just imagine Ask with a rocket and spaceman playing on it.

isn't HK the best after all these years. and your Star quilt is exciting. deep blue for a growing boy and bright fabrics keeping it fun.

what beautiful stars! I love to see how you're making use of scraps. I know you entered on my blog for the scrap giveaway but email me your snail mail and I'll mail you some scraps anyway so I can contribute to your scrap pile, if you're interested. happy holidays!!

oh my goodness - wait til I show Abby that gorgeous Hello Kitty - she too is a HUGE Hello Kitty fan. And so's my little 20 month old nephew Oscar! He's apparently taken to wearing my mum's hello kitty shower cap each morning (she's staying with them in Canada for Christmas)! Ask's quilt is looking really good - I love the wonky star. And I am in complete support of your 2009 goals. Me too! Lovely to be one of your bloggy quilty friends and looking forward to a wonderful 2009 of stitching! p.s. Anne's quilt calendar is such a good idea - we should pass it on to Nanette for her Christmas preparation ideas list?

Lovely starts - so brigth and cheerful!
I like the resolutions - I am a KISS principle fan for quite some time. Getting older and wiser /hopefully/, I seem to use it more and more... for almost everything. So I make the shortest lists possible and than add new items if some time/resource is available;)
