Presents from my sweetie

Charles has just spent a month at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill as part of his PhD. It was great for his research, and he met some really good collegues and made new friends.

We made do with Skype/Google video chat and emails while he was gone, and it was a great help for the kids to be able to "see" him every day.

Anyway....it is wonderful to have him back home, and he brought some amazing presents. He bought me "Julie & Julia" I have started reading it, and I like it so far!

Also....he bought me fabric....
He got to go JoAnns...I'm quite jealous!

I got this -I have had my eye on it since forever- to use as backing for a future Christmas quilt
and these great dinosaur prints to put into a pieced backing for A's I SPY
and some Strawberry Shortcake and princesses for V
and books for me, the softies in this one are so fun
and this is a beautiful book, the pictures are so pretty I can just look at them over and over again
He got me some great presents, don't you think?
The kids also got presents, and they were so happy :) Most of all, happy he is home!

I have been sick for almost a week now :/ so there is not much sewing going on around here. Or anything else for that matter. I pieced the backing for my 8two8 quilt before I got sick, so I am hoping to baste that as soon as I feel better.....hopefully that'll be before my next post?!

This once a week blogging plan seems to be a good one. I'll stick with it :) I have missed you all so much and it has been so great catching up with how everyone is doing!

Wow! How lovely presents you got! The fabrics are so beautiful and all those books so nice! I think I concentrate now in baking and making food.

You are so spoiled. My hubs is gone Mon-Fri...even went to Cancun this summer with his sister...and the only thing I got was a too small to wear t-shirt. He never brings me back anything. And I can't get him to go in JoAnns with me, let alone by himself. You should consider yourself so lucky!

What great gifts from a great hubby! That must have been so hard to be away from eachother, even with technology to keep in touch. Hope you feel better soon!

What a sweet guy! I am not sure, but could only hope that my hubby would do the same for me. By the way, my hubby and I just saw the movie Julie and Julia and loved it.

Hi Tine, the gifts you received were so perfect your sweet guy really knows the way to make you happy.
It must have been quiet hard for you and the family.
Take care and hope you get well soon.

That man is a keeper:-) He has certainly chosen some great gifts for you! Sorry to hear you are not well - hope you feel better soon!
It can be a struggle to find time for sewing sometimes, with me it happens in bursts of energy followed by long periods of nothing at all...

Did you give him a list?? Wow! He is a GREAT shopper. That candy cane fabric is amazing, as well as all the others. I hope you're feeling better and able to enjoy the last weeks of summer.

Your DH has great crafty taste! I love the look of the candy cane fabric - very festive and sweet. I have the machine pathcworks book and it is excellent and full of inspiration.
