My Christmas sewing list is very ambitious...

....but I basted Charles' quilt tonight! Yipee! I had to piece the back from different kinds of fabric. I will show you when it's quilted -sometime soon I hope!
I have had both kids at home the ladt couple of days, they have colds, and I just don't feel right about sending them to daycare when they are sneezing and I am blowing their noses all the time.

They have been doing a lot of coloring, and Ask felt we needed a little decoration on one of our walls...so he took off with a crayon, and made a little piece of art :) Luckily it came off, but not until after the whole wall had been pale blue, and I was wondering what to tell Charles :) LOL!

My parents came over today, and are staying here until Saturday. Right now they are playing wii, and I am sitting here behind my laptop trying not to laugh too hard :D

And look at this!!!!
My parents brought this Barbapapa board game, my sister and I used to play this when we were kids, and my parents saved it all these years. How cool is that?!

I realize I may be the only one who thinks this is absolutely fantastic, but please be patient with me :)
You have to get to Barbamama first to win, and all the little drawings are different tasks -you know how these things are!
Enough of that... Charles is in Stockholm for a conference and will be back tomorrow night. The kids and I miss him :(

I've never heard of that game...sounds fun!
Good for you keeping your kids home while they have their colds and runny noses. It seems kids get sick easier being in daycare from other kids who are not kept at home. At least that was the case when Isabella was in daycare, but now I'm fortunate enough to stay home with the kiddos.

Can't wait to see the final quilt!

eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeekkkk! Barbapapa - my daughter LOVES Barbapapa...if someone breaks into your house and only steals that game, it most definitely wasn't me, ok? ;)

(Miss G wants a giant Barbapapa for christmas, she has 2 regular sized ones, but the big one is BIG)

The quilt is looking wonderful, Charles is a lucky man (and soon he'll be nice and warm too)

Do you guys have Mr. Clean's magic eraser? It will take crayon right off the wall without taking the paint off. Your quilt is looking great!

How cool! I have a Barbaparpa (cereal) bowl that I use to collect the waste thread when I am doing hand applique and small scraps of fabric. My sister gave it to me for one of my kids. I just couldn't let it get yucky w/ food use and dishwasher cleaning so I stole it from my own child! I love the bowl. She got it in Belgium. We both grew up w/ Barbaparpa in the early morning hours of the weekend. It is bright and cheerful and reminds me of my sister. The game looks like fun and happy memories to me!

How would you ever get Charles' quilt finished without business trips?? It looks fantastic! Your game is in such great shape for having already been through one generation of children - how cool that your parents saved it for their grandchildren. I've never seen it; what are the tasks? It looks like fun!

ooo.. having that game from your childhood is terrific! Look at the hairstyles of the kids on the box. :-D Now just wait until YOUR children's games are labeled "vintage". that's scary.

love your scrappy log cabins.. it will be a hit.

I know I have said this before, but I just love Charles' quilt, I can't wait to see it quilted.

Ask is a true artist! Love that shade of blue! LOL Your scrappy quilt looks great. How you thinking of quilting it?

Oh I had forgotten about Barbapapa - that took me right back to the seventies!
Your quilt does a bit too - I remember my sister having a brown and orange crochet-dress when she was a toddler! The quilt looks great, and you still have a month to quilt and bind it. You'll do it, I know!
Ask is quite the little artist I see, it's a good thing you managed to remove the marks. Another option would be to sign and date his art ;-)

Charles' quilt looks wonderful! The cornerstones turned out so well. Sorry to hear that Ask and Viola are not well - but good to have your parents visiting. I have NEVER heard of Barbapapa - must have never sailed south. We've had walls decorated in a similar style - in pink on the roughly plastered walls of a holiday unit. It was a rather frantic morning!

Your quilt is looking good. That is goign to be a very special Christmas present. I am just releived that last night I found my ideas book. It had been MIA since the 5th and I was beginning to panic as every single Christmas idea I had since last year is in the back of it. So relieved. I daren't make a list with an order of making until this evening as my day is full enough.

I love the quilt! Aren't you happy it is in its finishing stages? It sounds like Ask may be a budding artist???? I have to say that I have never hear of the game you played. But it looks like fun. There are games that I still have from childhood too. Ahhhh... memories!
