Strawberry-swap!

I joined Susans strawberry-swap, and I just received my absolutely fantastic swap-parcel from Kristy! Thank you!

She made me this cute miniquilt, polkadot strawberries and a strawberry flower in the center. This is so cute!
Kristy also sent me these strawberry fabrics, and vintage stickers
And look at all this! Lots of bathtime-fun for the kids -Viola wanted to take a bath right away :-)
There are also candles, a strawberry-stamp, pink rubber-gloves...

And look at Ruby! A complete project, ready to start! Ruby is so cute, and I will try my hardest to make her loo as good as the photo on the pattern!
....last but not least, Kristy sent me CANDY....
YUM!

Thank you so much! This is such a great swap to receive! I feel so very very lucky!

A swap and a giveaway!

Tia from CampFollowerBagLady and I decided to do a swap.....and WOW! She sent me so much! There is a stack of MODA charm-squares, beautiful buttons and one of her handmade bags! And the fabric....oh the fabric!!! Loads of boy-prints! Dragons, pirates, maps, gold-coins.... Tattoos, dogs, houses, cars.... It is all so fantastic! Thank you, Tia!
I have so many ideas of what to make for Ask, now that I have a great selection of boyprints to work with!!

I won one of Jennifers give-aways! If you have not been to her blog yet, you must go pay her a visit. She has a give-away every week, and it is really a lot of fun! And look what I won!
A Disney princesses panel!!! Viola is turning 4 just before Christmas, and she will just love this! You can't tell from this picture, but the purple behind the princesses has glitter in it! Does it get any better than that?!

The prize also included fabric for backing, a lovely print with little purple flowers.
Oh...in this picture you can see the sparkle in the purple background!

Right now I am sewing the binding on the Plain Spoken. I started last night, but didn't finish.... Hopefully it'll get done tonight!
That'll be one Christmas-present done!

End of summer :-(

Remember my Flickr doll quilt swap? I recieved this beautiful doll quilt from Helen at Patchy Work of Mini Grey. Really....this is mine!! YAY! I am so happy! I have adored these lovely wonky rainbow-colored flying geese since the very first time I saw them! I have followed all the photos Helen uploaded, both in her Flickr account and on her blog, I just love them so much!
So you can imagine how happy and surprised I was, when this very quilt turned up at my house! Thank you so so much Helen! I treasure it!

Some progress have been made on Charles' Christmas-present. He loves brown, so I bought some to make a sashing, the squares are orange batik (he seems to be stuck in the 70s, colorwise. LOL!). I was going to make a wonky star-sashing, but when I see it laid out like this, it really seems quite busy as it is. So I'll probably just do the cornerblocks. What do you think?
It's fun to make these quilts to give away. I would never sew a primarily brown quilt for myself, but I just know he'll love it :-)

AND....good news...I went running yesterday! Yipee!

Finished my doll quilt!

I finished sewing down the binding and now my doll quilt for Doll Quilt Swap 4 is ready to be sent! I'm so excited, and very nervous! I really hope my swap-partner likes it!

I used an Amy Butler print as backing, I think it matches the top very well! It will go out on monday....

EDIT: I forgot! I went on my second run today....Can't wait until it starts getting easier. LOL!

July miniquilt swap

Today I went running for the first time in years....and I'm not in good shape, let me tell you! But that will change in the months to come. Of course I'm going to choose the end of summer to start running, just when it's going to get rainy and cold!

I recieved my miniquilt for July from Sarah from House of Krom today! And I absolutely love it!! Orange and pink is one of my favourite color-combinations.... Thank you so much!
Here's a picture of the back, so lovely!
Isn't is gorgeous?!
Sarah also sent all these goodies
Stickers for Viola (I almost didn't get a picture, she was so excited) and lots and lots of I SPY fabric for Ask's upcoming I SPY quilt. There is also a special coin and some beautiful seashells :-)
It's all so wonderful! Thank you very very much Sarah!

I have finally quilted my dollquilt for Doll Quilt Swap 4. I gave up waiting for the batting I ordered, and....uhm....I'm embarassed to say, I managed to find some batting I had forgotten all about....it was hiding in my sewing-room!
I did the quilting on my machine, and I am not at all confident when it comes to freemotion quilting. But since everybody says, all you can do is practise, I figured I'd better just go ahead and sew....

Just need to sew the binding down on the back, and then it's off on monday!! Hope my swap-partner likes it :-)

Hooked on Stars!

I really was not happy with how my doll quilt for the flickr swap was turning out.
And since I had some extra fabric, I decided to start over.....again. This time, I decided to do some piecing, since the appliqué turned out nowhere near what I wanted ;-)
I used this tutorial for the maverick stars. So fun to make. I used 3½" blocks and just added the little corner triangles made from 2" squares.
Much better, this I like :-D And hope my swap-partner will too!

I found the PERFECT fabric!!

Look at this!!!
It a Debbie Mumm print, and it is absolutely perfect for the back of my Plain Spoken...
See how well it matches! I'm so happy. Now I need to go get some batting....
I'm always confused when it comes to batting..... What do you use? And why? I need some help here....

I ordered this book, and have been waiting very impatiently for it. It is awesome!! There are 23 quilts in here, and they are all gorgeous! I can't wait to get started :-)
You should visit the blog, or go see some of the patterns.... They are so so beautiful. Now if only there were 48 hours to each day, I would be all set! LOL!
I am trying to find ways to help Viola get over her dislike of buttons. And since we still have the owl- and the purple-craze going on, you can imagine my happiness when I found these little sweeties...
Maybe she won't mind if I use one of these? We'll have to see!

I also got to work a little more on my doll quilt for the Flickr swap. I'm al little happier with it now, and I'm sure that once I'm done, I'll be sad to see it go.
But that's how it's supposed to be :-)

AND......Jen at Crafty Giveaways is having another wonderful giveaway! Go enter! It's a partially finished quilt, and it is gorgeous!!!

Sneak Peek

This is what I'm doing for my July mini-quilt-swap......I think! The squares are 2½", and 2" finished.
I saw this quilt, and wanted to see, if I could do something like that. Knowing me and my limited patience, I figured a miniquilt would be the way to go.
And then the July-theme in the mini-quilt-group is triangles!!!
So...it is almost as if I have to sew this.

Making perfect points, now that's a different matter. Hopefully I'll get better with practise?!

June miniquilt, sneak peek

The 6"-12" mini quilt swap on Flickr is finally on its way....and this little quilt has such a long way to go! I am still practicing the hourglass-blocks using AmandaJeans tutorial.
These blocks are 2" square when finished. There is a little bulk in the corners where the blocks meet, I tried to press it flat, but there is so much fabric right there. Any ideas on what to do??
I'll show you the whole miniquilt later, once it has reached its new home :-)

Fantastic mail!

I entered I'm a ginger monkey's contest to help name her new Bernina -and I won!! Yay! And look what the wonderfully talented Katy sent me!!! I love it. Look at the embroidered tail onthe bird....it's so sweet!
And I got my 6-12" miniquilt from tessophia. This is a Flickrswap I really enjoy. She made this little beauty especially for Ask. How cute is that?! The handquilting on this is so so pretty. He loves it, and I'll hang it over his bed.
As if that was not plenty of mail-love, I also got this absolutely amazing package from Anne in Finland. It has lots of large pieces of Marimekko fabrics
I LOVE these, they are so so beautiful! Thank you so much!

Anne also sent all these Moomin-goodies -look at the pink and baby-blue Moomin-fabric with matching stripes!
She sent mugs for the children, Viola wanted Ask to have this one
And she wanted this for herself
This is the green Moomin-fabric I laid everything out on in the first photo
Thank you Anne! I cannot tell you how many oooohhs and aaawwwws and smiles we have had opening your generous gift. Ask and Viola want to use their new mugs with every meal, and Viola wants me to save the napkins for her birthday-party :-)

Another day at home

These are the pants I forgot to take a photo of yesterday. Viola wanted to wear them to kindergarten today, so I guess they have been approved :-)

Ask stayed home with me, he still has a cold.... We went out for a walk, he loves to sit in the backpack-carrier, and it's so much easier for me to get around that way!

And look at this find:

Someone was throwing it away! It will be perfect for Viola. It just needs a little fixing up, and it will be as good as new :-)

I also got my flickr Fat Quarter swap package from QuiltLady50 in the mail!

Look what she sent me! I'm so happy! Fantastic purple fabrics, a beautiful ribbon and a gorgeous handmade purse!

I am such a lucky swapper :-)

Miniquilt done :-)

The 6"-12" mini quilt for the Flickr swap is all done. You'll have to wait until Imagingermonkey has received it before you can see it :-)
I'm happy with it!

On our way today, we passed this church in downtown Copenhagen. I think it's beautiful!

And thank you all so much for the comments on the tent-situation! I have definately gotten some very good ideas -and links- and I have high hopes for an ugly-tent-free future! Thank you :-)
