We gave my parents tickets to Celine Dion's concert in Copenhagen TODAY!
The weather is so nice here, so we decided to have an early picnic-dinner in the park before seeing them off...
Charles made all the food, exept for the bread....
Viola and I baked the bread for our sandwiches, and Viola made this special for "bedstefar" (Granddad).
We had ice-cream for dessert... YUM!
This is a view of the church-tower.... Look at that beautiful blue sky!
Something was wrong with the clock....we were there at 4pm!
The tree we sat under, had these beautiful thingiemabobs:
Wouldn't this shape look great on fabric?
Lokks like you had a wonderful day - and you have a picnic-blanket too! I was actually invited to a stich-along at my local quiltshop next week to make one which you can actually turn into a bag - sounds like a good idea, maybe I should sign up?
ReplyDeleteI see what you mean about that last picture. In fact Valorie Wells has a fabric design which might be inspired by something similair: http://www.stitchinpost.com/vals-solehomedec.html (scroll down to "Agapantha")
What a great picnic. I think I have fabric with that shape on it! Cool!!!
ReplyDeleteYou know how to do a great picnic! It all looks tasty, and I'm glad the play quilt could sub as a picnic quilt. I never tried to take ice cream on a picnic; I'm sure it would be a melty mess if I tried it. How do you keep it frozen?
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely picnic, the bread you made looks yummy. We have been baking bread here with little sucess. Hope you have a good weekend.
ReplyDeleteThat thingamebob is a great shape!!
ReplyDeleteAwesome picnic! It is funny how you see inspiration everywhere you look!
ReplyDeleteLooks like a lovely day : )
ReplyDeleteI thought the same thing about the thingamabobs in the last picture, great for fabric LOL
Lovely picnic.
ReplyDeleteOh...we bought the icecream at a shop next to the park! And not until we were ready for dessert ;-)
ReplyDeleteWhat a yummy looking picnic. I'm coming to your house for dinner tonight. What time shall I be there?
ReplyDelete@Dana: Looking forward to seeing you :-) We eat early, so the kids aren't too tired... Around 4:30-5 PM.... So just come on over! LOL!
ReplyDeleteIncase you were still wondering, that's a Linden tree. They certainly do have unique flower structures (aka: thingamabobs).
ReplyDeletegreat blog -- thanks!
